Our History
Since 1998...
1998
The Wine Merchant is founded by Christophe Reboul Salze, after his career at CVBG and having gained nearly 20 years’ experience in the sale of Bordeaux Grands Crus Classés.






2001
Construction of new offices to welcome six people and a storage area of 1,500m², near a major road on the outskirts of Bordeaux, to enable major expansion of the business.
2002
The Wine Merchant is admitted to the Académie du Vin de Bordeaux, a rare privilege for a merchant.
2003
The Wine Merchant participates in Vinexpo Bordeaux for the first time.

2008
With lower import taxes in Hong Kong and the opening up of China, The Wine Merchant grows its activity in Asia and becomes one of the preferred contacts for major companies such as China Duty Free Group, C&D and Duty Free.
2010
Enlargement of the warehouse area to reach 2,180m².
2012
Still faced with major growth, the storage capacity is increased by 1,500m².

2014
540m² of air-conditioned and insulated storage are added.
2017
The Wine Merchant is acquired by three private investors. Christophe Reboul Salze continues to manage TWM with the full confidence of the shareholders.
2019
Axel Vallet joins The Wine Merchant after 20 years of experience in the international wine business.

Our deployment
Today, The Wine Merchant has 4,220m² of storage and 1.5 million bottles in stock. The office space is increased from 200 to 230 m². Around 24 people work to develop The Wine Merchant, five of whom work in the cellars.
