Since 2001, the estate has been owned by Lochlann and Brenda Quinn, originally from the United States, who have successfully combined respect for Bordeaux’s heritage with a modern vision. Deeply passionate about wine and strongly attached to the estate’s traditions, the Quinn family has instilled a familial yet innovative spirit, notably symbolised by the concrete vats named after each of their grandchildren.

Today, Château de Fieuzal is managed by Stephen Carrier, whose vision combines respect for Bordeaux traditions with technical innovation and environmental awareness. His precise and demanding approach is reflected across the entire range of the estate’s wines, including L’Abeille de Fieuzal, conceived as a more immediate yet faithful expression of the Fieuzal style.

Consulting oenologist Thomas Duclos has been working with the estate since the 2019 vintage, bringing his expertise and attention to detail to enhance the wines’ expression while respecting the unique identity of the property.

L’Abeille de Fieuzal red: fruity, structured and supple

Since the 2019 vintage, L’Abeille de Fieuzal red has been an exclusive wine that we are fortunate to offer. A classic blend from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, it is generally composed of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and, on occasion, a touch of Petit Verdot.

The wine is distinguished by its expressive fruit, supple palate and delicate tannins. Ideal for drinking younger than the Grand Vin, it is nonetheless structured and elegant, with interesting ageing potential.

On tasting, L’Abeille de Fieuzal red reveals notes of ripe red berries, liquorice and gentle spices, complemented by a subtle smoky nuance typical of gravelly soils. This cuvée is equally suited to an elegant standing reception or to pairing with a fine cut of grilled meat.

A subtle blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, L’Abeille de Fieuzal white captivates with its aromatic freshness and finesse. Sauvignon Blanc brings vibrant tension and notes of citrus, white flowers and exotic fruit, while Sémillon adds richness and complexity on the palate.
